A New Approach to Nonstandard Analysis

In this paper, we propose a new approach to nonstandard analysis without using the ultrafilters. This method is very simple in practice. Moreover, we construct explicitly the total order relation in the new field of the infinitesimal numbers. To illustrate the importance of this work, we suggest comparing  a few applications of this approach with the former methods.

Nonstandard Methods For Upper Banach Density Problems

A general method is developed by using nonstandard analysis for formulating and proving a theorem about upper Banach density parallel to each theorem about Shnirel'man density or lower asymptotic density. There are many interesting results about Shnirel'man density or lower asymptotic density (see [4, Chapter 1] for example) in additive number theory. There are also a few interesting results ab...

Nonstandard explicit third-order Runge-Kutta method with positivity property

When one solves differential equations, modeling physical phenomena, it is of great importance to take physical constraints into account. More precisely, numerical schemes have to be designed such that discrete solutions satisfy the same constraints as exact solutions. Based on general theory for positivity, with an explicit third-order Runge-Kutta method (we will refer to it as RK3 method) pos...

Applications of Nonstandard Analysis in Additive Number Theory (a) = Inf

This paper reports recent progress in applying nonstandard analysis to additive number theory, especially to problems involving upper Banach density. 1 Prologue In this paper we use N for the set of all natural numbers. For any two integers a and b, a; b] denotes the interval of all integers x between a and b (a 6 x 6 b). If S is an internal set, jSj denotes the internal cardinality of S. The l...

A Nonstandard Representation for Brownian Motion and Itô Integration

A number of authors have attempted to apply Nonstandard Analysis to Probability Theory. Unfortunately, the nonstandard reformulations heretofore proposed have retained most of the essential difficulties inherent in the standard formulations. As a result, the application of nonstandard techniques has met with limited success. Hersh [4] produced a nonstandard analogue of Wiener measure. His "meas...
